Happy belated Lunar New Year! I hope anyone reading this has been doing amazing. I’m working on finishing the ending of Color the Sea, though it’s hard and everything is taking up SO many more words than I expected (I thought it would end at 90k, but it’s now 600 words away from 100k and there’s still more to add). My goal was originally to finish by February 12th, but evidently that didn’t happen, so I guess I’m just trying to do it as soon as possible? I know that’s probably not the most motivating goal, but I just want to be done and start editing at this point – I’ve been working on the ending for months. I really need to look for sensitivity readers ASAP, since the more time I spend with this manuscript, the more nervous I get about including folklore/elements of so many cultures I’m not a part of, even with all the research I’ve done, and I really need some help. June 30th is looking optimistic for a release date, but I don’t want to push it back further, so I’m just going to try and get everything done! Especially since next quarter looks like it’ll be busy, so I want to take advantage of having less work to do this quarter.
